A very opulent Spoons this one, with ornate cornice work, panelling and even the carpet was posh. You enter here through a pillared Georgian entrance, the pub is all on one level, so no navigating up stairs to the loo.
The clientele were all respectable, so not many characters downing copious amounts of Carling. There was a side terrace room which overlooked the gardens, this looked to be popular with the regulars.
Their three guest beers were Adnams Ghostship, Bradfield Farmers Blonde and Conwy Beachcomber.

Looks more like a minor mansion than a pub, and something that should be located out in the country rather than the Sheffield suburbs near the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Conservatory extension, and extra outdoor seating on the front and side terraces. Reasonable real ale selection from six of the handpumps on this revisit: Elgood's seasonal Patron Saint, Titanic Anchor and Conwy Beachcomber in addition to the usual trio.

This is named after and the building was the home of some geezer who was big on knives and forks in Victorian times. It's a grand building perched on a hill overlooking Sheffield and unusually for a Spoons has a car park. Inside it's a roughly L shaped room with lots of big windows and there is extensive seating outside one side of which provides views across Sheffield.
Sadly the beer choice from the ten hand pumps wasn't so great with the JDW IPA Trio Of Doom & Thornbridge Brother Rabbit doubled, a cider and Stancill Barnsley Bitter. I went for the Brother Rabbit (£2.35) and then noticed there were two Thornbridge beers on Keg, Jaipur and Chiron. Despite being expensive for a JDW (£3.95) I went for the Jaipur which was excellent and as it transpired 5p less than the cask in the Sheffield Tap.
I thought this was an unusual and good Spoons. It gets a strong 7.
